In conclusion, the results provide clear evidence that suggest health benefits of the bran extracts from Riceberry. Both the DCM and MeOH extracts contain compounds with putative cancer chemopreventive properties. The DCM extract, especially, contains significant agents that contribute to apoptosis induction and growth inhibition of the cancer cells. The MeOH extract contains molecules that could potentiate anti-cancer activity other than the known antioxidant activity, possibly as biological modifiers to enhance effectiveness in sensitive cells. The effective concentrations of the extracts used in this study are considered low and there are no serious contaminants found in the constituents. Therefore, the bran extract of Riceberry has a potential to be promoted as chemopreventive adjuvant.
