The CSA (Lee & Ward, 2005) is a brief seven-item self-
report sleep questionnaire used in this study to assess sleep–
wake patterns before diagnosis. The school-age children and
adolescents were asked to reference the period before they
experienced symptoms related to their cancer diagnosis.
Although the length of recall was variable because of the
time between symptoms and diagnosis, they seemed readily
able to recall bedtimes and wake times on weekdays and
weekends because of their school schedules. The items
