In studies of strategic management in hospitals,
it is difficult to use financial indicators to measure
performance, especially when hospitals in the public
sector are under consideration. It is therefore worth
making the effort to use operational performance indicators [35,36]. The output measures normally used
to measure clinical activity in the health services are
those that focus on intermediate processes, such as
length of stay, clinical procedures, number of visits,diagnostic checks, rehabilitation sessions, etc., which
are easier to define.
