The yields of crude extracts of young and mature fruit rinds of G. mangostana, along with the contents of total phenolic
compounds, total flavonoids, total tannins, α-mangostin, free radical scavenging and antibacterial activities, are shown in
Table 1. The young fruit rind extract contained much higher content of phenolic compounds (42.57±0.11 g GAE/100 g
extract) than the mature fruit rind extract (28.88±0.73 g GAE/100 g extract)
