this cafe is the presentation of the coffee - which is served in a tiny alcohol bottle and some fresh milk served in a small whiskey bottle. The coffee is also mixed with a little dash of liqueur that gives it the slight edgy, yet delightful alcohol kick! (Perfect as a morning wake-me-up drink!) Adding a little playful twist to the usual mundane coffee routine that allows customers to "customize" the their drink according to the way they like it - more coffee? less milk? coffee first or milk first?
The Mao coffee (which costs 90฿ which is approximately $2.60 USD) isn't the only drink on the menu
- two of the other "Mao" specialty-drinks include:
Mao Nom (which is the classic Thai Iced Milk Tea)
Mao Choc (which is the Iced Chocolate)
which both cost 80฿ (which is approximately $2.35 USD)
They also serve up a variety of deliciously-sinful desserts, some savory options and the standard coffee/chocolate/soda/tea drinks.
I'm pretty sure customers would still be somewhat sober enough to drive after that innocent drink. heh.
Disclaimer:
PSA: Don't drink & drive!
I'm no coffee connoisseur and people may have their own preference of coffee -
but the taste of the coffee was good enough for me!
The other two drinks do not contain any alcohol -
it is presented in the same way for the kick of "mixing and putting" your own drink together.
The cafe is located on the side of the the Suthep Road highway with a very
spacious exterior sheltered by a canopy of trees. An ideal setting for families, couples, students
and the young & old to hang out and chill with a cuppa.
So, why don't you give Mao a shot! (-pun intended-)
