Training and development
You will usually receive on-the-job training, while working alongside experienced staff. You may also need to have, or work towards, a Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence. This will depend on who employs you and where you work.
In-house employee
If you are carrying out duties for your employer on premises managed and operated by them, you do not need an SIA licence. This may be different if your job includes security guarding duties, for example in a shopping centre across the whole site.
