Gitsada Boonchirt started in ECCO in 2005. Because of his many years of experience in the tanning industry, he was the obvious candidate to join ECCO Leather, Thailand. Since then, he has risen rapidly within the group. In four years, he went from Financial Controller to Deputy Managing Director and most recently he was promoted Managing Director, ECCO Tannery Thailand.
“I live and breathe my job, and I like the international style of leadership. It’s based on trust and you’re given the opportunity to develop,” says Gitsada.
How would you describe your time with ECCO?
My focus in ECCO has always been to develop and continuously contribute to the people, teams and the organization in order to fulfill the expectations of all stakeholders. This is very challenging, exciting and a passion of mine, fuelling me with energy all the time.
ECCO creates a family atmosphere and passion and I feel that both the ECCO owner and group management spreads this feeling to all employees around the world. The mindset of the organization is an eternal source of inspiration.
What has been the biggest challenge?
I strongly believe that people are at the very heart of our business and the source of our success. Since I joined ECCO, I started building up our team and organisation to fulfill continuous business demands and challenges.
Who or what is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is to be an inspiring person to the team, as well as encourage them to inspire others in a never-ending cycle.
What has been an unforgettable moment in ECCO?
I will never forget the way we helped each other and worked with unbeaten team spirit and loyalty during the handling of the flooding in 2011. We stood together as a team on the road to recovery for our factory. Not only in our local team, but also with care, attention and support from the ECCO owner and the entire Group. During that time, I felt very proud, impressed and happy to be part of the ECCO family.
