The crown of C. junghuhniana is reasonably open and comprises numerous long,
deciduous branchlets bearing scale-like leaves reduced to tiny teeth in whorls of 9–
11. The greyish green branchlets are formed by numerous segments of article,
each 10–15 mm long. Trees are predominantly dioecious. Male inflorescence, 3–8
cm long, is borne on the apex of a deciduous branchlet. Female flowers are cone
shaped and are borne in the axil of scale leaves on lateral permanent branches,
5–8 mm long.
