In this work, linear and nonlinear electric properties for a series
of confined model heteronuclear diatomics (i.e. LiH, LiF, HCl and
HF) are computed at several levels of theoretical approximation.
The molecular dipole moments and (hyper)polarizabilities of the
investigated systems were calculated using the finite-field method
introduced by Cohen and Roothaan. This method relies on the
Taylor expansion of the energy of electrically neutral system (E)in
the presence of the homogeneous electric field (F):
