Any study in cattle concerning the effects on the
embryo or fetus, must rely on the normal pattern of
development as a basis for comparison. To understand the
growth of cattle, especially the postnatal muscle and fat
development, which influences the amount and quality of
meat, a characterization of normal prenatal development of
cattle is necessary. To date, extensive studies of fetal
development in different cattle breeds have not been
conducted. Differences in the development of organs and
muscles in the fetus were expected between dairy and meat
