Intervention
One-hundred thirty-six general practitioners, working at
7 different health-care centers, in the management group took 2 d of training in health management for intervention. The training included: general information about COPD, pathogenesis, risk factors, clinical manifestations, assessment of subjects’ conditions, display of exacerbation, and the stable stage of treatment and rehabilitation of COPD. In addition, they learned the follow-up process, how to help subjects quit smoking, and how to help subjects improve self-management skills.
