Hi,
I'm having a weird problem with a Canon PIXMA MX320 on VISTA 32 bit. I have purchased a Canon PIXMA MX320 and have installed all drivers on my laptop running under Vista 32 bit. The printers scans and copies, but it doesn't print.
The printer drivers are installed and the print can be launched, but the printer doesn't react. In the print queue the document is listed and the printer status is "printing".
After about 30 seconds a pop-up window appears with following text :
QUOTE
Print data cannot be sent because of the current printer status
Check that the printer is connected and the power is on. If an error has occured in the printer, clear the error.
Even when the printer is operating correctly, this message may appear if the printer is taking a long time to perform an operation. If this message does not disappear after some time, stop printing, and then print again

I have tried the printer on another laptop running under Windows XP 5.1.2600 and there it works perfectly.
The canon helpdesk was eager to help, untill I told them that the unit worked under XP. They then told me it was a windows error and that they couldn't help me further. They pretend it is a problem with the USB drivers. I have uninstalled the drivers & re-installed them (latest version) and installed service pack 2 for Vista, but nothing helps.
I have googled to find a solution, and it seems that Vista 32 is giving some trouble with USB all in one printers. I found a lot of solutions for Pixma printers, but not for model MX320. I tried the fixes described, but none of them gives satisfaction.
I have updated Vista completely and checked for the latest printer drivers, but the problem persists.
My brand new Canon printer is useless and I can't turn it because the unit works perfectly under windows XP. Can somebody help me ? Thx
Pete
