the Buddha was not interested in converting the people . he preached the Doctrines out of compassion for them, and never forced his teaching on them. This is clearly seen in the advice given to kalamas. He presented his doctrine and invited others to 'come and see' whether it contain. he did not compare his teaching with that of any other teaching and try to show that his teaching is superior. the buddha clearly pointed out that such ideas as 'superiority' and 'inferiority' bring about anger and conflict
