Even though the แอลฟ่า-tocopherol has a higher activity of vita-min E to the body, the แรมด้า-tocopherol provides greater stability against oxidation processes because of its better antioxidant activity.
Only the isomers _แอลฟ่า and แรมด้า-tocopherol were found in jatoba pulp and seed oils, and in both the tocopherol แอลฟ่า-tocopherol was the major component with 886.37 and993.63 mg/kg, respectively. Vitamin E expressed as แอลฟ่า-tocopherolwas higher, in the seed oil with 1034.30 mg/kg than the amount found in the pulp oil (909.47 mg/kg). For the content of total tocopherols, the seed oil is the richest with 1291.87 mg/kg, compared to 1055.80 mg/kg in the pulp. Fig. 3 shows the chromatograms of the jatoba pulp (a) and seed (b) oils tocopherols composition
