The cons of the area is re fact it is VERY touristy. We didn't expect so many tourists at all. It ruins the atmosphere a little bit if you are there to immerse yourself in some peace and quiet. Also the other tourists at eko in did some strange things such as wearing yukata to the morning ceremony even though told not to. Or using camera flash constantly. It does distract you from your own thoughts. The other slight con is that the food wasn't quite to our taste- but to be honest that's probably more our fault for not enjoying vegetarian food!
