5. CONCLUSIONS
The proposed analysis of the neuronal systems followed an engineering approach for the purpose of developing of novel non-invasive treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, based on controlled RF exposure. The neuronal structure has been described under a communication paradigm where the biological blocks are compared to RF entities. Prelimi- nary simulations also supported the possibility to drive the neuronal firing pattern with suitable stimuli on the cellular membrane. Further investigations for different scenarios can unveil the mechanisms behind the biological reaction to RF exposure, exploiting the effect at networking level, of great importance for a possible treatment of neurodegenerative disease.
