The post-reading activities can also be carried out in small groups or in pairs.
Teachers need to make sure that such a group or pair discussion differs from a
“question and answer” session in that students should be encouraged to express
individual, unique opinions on the same topic. At this stage, the emphasis is on
learners’ ability to use the target language for communication and the exchange of
ideas. Their responses should be incorporated, in an identifiable fashion, into the
learning process.
