In the case of delivery of hazardous substances, a safety data sheet must be sent, and transportation of
these substances in accordance with applicable state regulations or national/international statutes must
be assured such as RoHs.
Concerning the End of Life Vehicle and Electro Scrap Provision the supplier has to provide all required
data to the purchaser. Therefore the supplier uses the form or procedure prescribed by the purchaser
(for example via IMDS reporting system)
Evaluation and rating are carried out by performing an audit of quality management system with the aid
of the questionnaire “Supplier Assessment Survey”. The audit is performed by a representative of
Johnson Controls. By arrangement with the Johnson Controls representative it is also acceptable for
third parties to perform the audit provided these are technically competent auditors who are
demonstrably independent (for example, the car manufacturer). These evaluations can and will be
carried out at any time or more than once depending upon the necessity as deemed fit by Johnson
Controls and its authorized representatives. These audits are preceded by a written communication to
one of the names mentioned in the contact names.
The supplier shall warn purchaser of any cease in manufacture of any of the components concerned, as
soon as it becomes known or at the latest one year ahead of manufacture stoppage. During this period,
the purchaser will be allowed to place a last buy order and to get deliveries for up to the following 36
months with deliveries that may be in multiple lots.
The supplier agrees to produce a DUNS number (Data Universal Number System) at the time of signing
this contract. This number is available from the Internet. Should this not be available then the supplier
has 30 days to submit the number from the date of this contract. Failure to do so may result in severe
penalties which include disqualification from future business.
The supplier submits evidence of compliance with ISO TS 16949 (or at the very minimum ISO 9001
version 2000 with commitment to become ISO/TS 16949 certified). The commitment to become
certified according to ISO TS 16949 within 24 months is made by submission of a plan of action within
10 working days of signing this contract how to reach this level. Failure to submit this action plan results
in disqualification of the supplier for future business. A recognized certification body must do this
accreditation. The certificate must be sent to Johnson Controls on an annual basis before the expiration
date else the supplier will be disqualified from future business. Johnson Controls reserves the right to
make audits at the supplier premises to check the authenticity of the certificates and compliance to the
ISO/TS standard/norms by the supplier
The supplier provides an email address and contact telephone numbers for the quality responsible and
the Johnson Controls business liaison in charge. This also includes the person filling and signing this
contract. This person should make all attempts to be available for all meetings deemed urgent by
Johnson Controls and makes all arrangements to meet the date and timing of the meeting.
All evolution of the product must follow the customer product change notification
. Johnson Controls
retains the right to accept or reject any product evolution on or after 5 years of start of production if the
evolution does not impact the dimensional and performance characteristics.
