Although considerable research has been devoted to human resource management policies in big organizations,
little attention has been paid to SMEs. Shortcomings in definition and measurement in current and past research
suggest the need for further validation of HRM practices in small firms, and a more careful definition of what is
meant by SMEs in hotel industry. This study, therefore, sought to address the gap by evaluating recruitment and
selection practices by SMEs in the hotel industry in the Central Ayawaso Sub-metropolitan area.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the practices of SMES in recruitment and selection procedures.
