Geriatric patients, those aged 65 years and older, make up the majority of all acutely hospitalized patients.1 Even as geriatric patients are prevalent in the hospital system, their outcomes are generally poorer compared with younger patients.1 Additionally, patients aged ≥80 are reported to be the least satisfied with their hospital care out of all age groups.2 Multiple models have been created in the past 2 decades that try to improve care and outcomes for geriatric patients.3 Models to guide care of geriatric patients are valuable resources to optimize care and promote the well-being of these patients in acute hospital settings.4
