In this study, the biocompatible CECS/PVA/SF nanofibers were
successfully prepared by electrospinning of aqueous CECS/PVA
with SF nanoparticles. SEM micrographs showed that the as-spun
CECS/PVA/SF blend nanofibers had smaller diameters and narrower
diameter distributions with increasing SF nanoparticles content.
The results of XRD and DSC indicated that, there was strong interaction
occurred among CECS, PVA and SF molecule in the blend
fibers and all these macromolecules were mainly amorphous. Indirect
cytotoxicity assessment of electrospun CECS/PVA/SF nanofiber
mats with mouse fibroblasts (L929) indicated that it had good in
vitro biocompatibility. These novel electrospun matrices have the
potential to be used as materials for wound dressing for skin regeneration.
