Drying behaviour of apple (var. Ligol) cubes was investigated in
a fluidized bed dryer. The effect of drying air temperature was
investigated. Increase in drying air temperature caused a decrease
in the drying time and an increase in drying rate. Theoretical, semitheoretical,
and empirical models available from the literature and
three new empirical models developed by the authors of this study
were investigated for their suitability to describe the drying behaviour
