3.3. Cost analysis of rapid production
For the industrial production of marketable products, it is necessary
to check the economic viability of the process. In China,
the market price of organic fertilizer is 1000 Ұ per ton. Under
our experimental conditions, the total cost to produce 1 ton of
organic fertilizer was around 499.5 Ұ, and the profit was 500.5 Ұ
per ton. Considering the annual production of 4000 tons of organic
fertilizer factory, we can achieve a profit of 2.002 million per year.
The following operational costs were identified:
(1) Raw material purchase and transport costs. In the process of
rapid production of organic fertilizer, food waste and husk
were needed, and the production of 1 ton of organic fertilizer
required a food waste of 4.8 ton and husk of 0.1 ton. The cost
of these two materials was approximately 100 Ұ, and the
transport cost was 5 Ұ per ton.
(2) Labor cost. Two men were necessary to perform the production
process, which required close to 10 working hours a
day, according to the monthly salary of 3000 Ұ and annual
production of 4000 tons of organic fertilizer, approximately
18 Ұ per ton of organic fertilizer.
(3) Water and energy consumption. The rapid production of
organic fertilizer needs heating and turning. Although the
degradation of food waste can release energy, the biomass
energy is not adequate to provide the whole system a stable
energy input; as a result, energy should be supplied to the
system. To maintain the moisture content in the piles at
around 60%, a certain volume of water is needed. The water
price in China is 5 Ұ per ton, while the electricity price is
0.49 Ұ per kw h. The production of 1 ton of organic fertilizer
required approximately 50 L of water and 786 kw h of electricity,
leading to a total cost of 376.5 Ұ.
