Long walk
Locals march against drugs
Activists on January 20 started an 800-kilometre march from Nakhon Si Thammarat to Government House in Bangkok as part of an anti-drug campaign.
About 45 people who gathered at Phramahathat Voramahaviharn Temple in Muang district were urging the government to step up its fight against drugs.
The campaign is led by Chalerm Kanchanapithak, head of Kaokor village in Phrommakhiri, who took an active role in fighting the drug trade in his village. The rally will pass through nine provinces before arriving in the capital on February 9.
