The Laboratory Method in Social Studies involves the employment of source materials,
supplementary references, mechanical devices, audiovisual aids and many other life-like
activities to supplement textbook instructions and to increase the effectiveness of presentation
and mastery. Laboratory mode of teaching does not refer to a special place or a special class
period, but to an activity. The activity can occur in a regular classroom, outside the classroom or
in a specially designed room.
