Lignin content in banana fibre is less compared to other natural
fibres such as jute, coir fibre. Higher amounts of lignin content
in natural fibres lead to lower tensile and impact properties of
composites. Though the high moisture absorption capacity of
banana fibre negatively influence the composite properties, in exterior
application, leading to faster degradation, application of such
composites as an architectural interiors has great utility as they
are environmental friendly green materials. Content as composite
made of these fibres fail to remain stable dimensions in humid
environment and show decreased mechanical properties.
