In the Expt. II, the biochemical model could estimate the A/Q
response closely to the measured values at four different leaf
temperatures (Tl
) at low–medium light intensities (Table 1 and
Fig. 2). Even though the model fitting was acceptable when the
model input for CO2 concentration was in Cc form (R
2
= 83.7;
data not shown), the accuracy of the simulation was much higher
when the model input for CO2concentration was in Ci
(R
2
= 91.1).
When Tl was at 20, 28.8 and 36.2
◦
C, estimated A values from the
biochemical model were in close agreement with the measured
values at both low and high CO2 concentrations, except for the
PAR at 2000 mol m−2
s
−1
