This project seeks to explore the reclamation of 'left-over' spaces that lurks underneath existing motorway viaducts as a form of land intensification strategy. There are a total of 116 motorway viaducts in Singapore and this begets the question of whether these vast amount of spaces taken up by transport infrastructures are being used to their maximum potential. The exploration thus focuses on developing a habitable viaduct parasitic structure.
As the site situates itself in convergence of various urban conditions, a permanent programmatic injection might not be appropriate. It is hence proposed that a transformable scaffold is to be erected underneath the viaduct, allowing the spaces to be utilized differently throughout the year. To demonstrate this, the project will focus on the scaffold's event-responsive capabilities
