In most cases, however, thermal treatments cause
changes of the particle size and volume fraction simulta- neously, and the composition of the amorphous phase near
the amorphous-crystal interface is also changed by the pre- cipitation of specific elements. Therefore, the individual
efects of each internal structure factor on the mechanical
properties have not been sufciently clarified. For the de- velopment of materials and their efective application, it
is important to establish the ideal crystal volume fraction
and particle size, and to determine how the ductility of an amorphous metal is improved by the presence of the dis- persed particles.
