In the experiment on the germination rate of microtubers, the
survival rate of 89–97% of microtubers from three-storey in
vitro hydroponic culture system (Table 3) demonstrated the
effectiveness of this culture system. The survival rate of
microtubers formed on the first storey is higher than those of
microtubers formed on the second and third storey. This was
ascribed to the larger size of the microtubers produced on the
first storey in comparison with those of the second and third
ones, which resulted in the formation of more virogous plants
characterized by a higher disease resistance.
