By 2009, the relative risk reduction was 38% during a median follow-up of 9 years and a median time span of 13 years from baseline. These findings are consistent with the China Da Qing Diabetes Prevention Study [8], which had a 43% lower diabetes incidence over 20 years, and with the US Diabetes Prevention Program Outcomes Study [9], which had a 34% lower diabetes inci- dence over 10 years in the active intervention group.
