A few days have passed since the high school section entrance ceremony, but there hasn’t been any particular trouble. I haven’t heard anything about Wakaba-chan making a mess of anything, after all.
I went to steathily peek in on Wakaba-chan’s class, but it did seem that she’d made some friends, so she seems to be getting by.
The way things are, it should be fine to leave her alone for now.
So I think that from now on, I’d better start working to deepen the friendships within my own class.
The External students in my class aren’t really getting used to things. Even the Internal students who didn’t know really know each other in the middle school section are fumbling when dealing with each other.
So I think that right now we should have an informal type gathering! And informal gatherings mean food!
“Having lunch together as a class?”
“Yes, I feel that by having lunch together once, perhaps everyone will be able to deepen their bonds.”
I immediately voiced my suggestion to Sayomi Yukinari-kun, my partner as class rep.
I think it’s quite hard to get closer to each other with just the breaks between periods. So wouldn’t it be great if we all had lunch together once, and got to talk about lots and lots of things? Or so I was thinking.
As for what to talk about, since it’s lunch we could say things like “This is yummy, isn’t it?” and other harmless icebreakers, after all. How’s my plan?
“Mm~mm… I think it’s a good idea, but would we really be able to sit everybody together in the cafeteria?”
That’s a good point, huh. I mean, we basically just sit where there’s a free spot, so guaranteeing 40 peoples’ worth of seats together is pretty hard.
HOWEVER! Satomi-kun has forgotten one very important thing!
“It shall be fine.”
-FLASH-
I showed the red peony on my uniform to Satomi-kun.
“Ah, Pivoine. Eh-! You’re not thinking of using the seats reserved for the Pivoine, are you!?”
“That really would be too much. However, as for reserving seats in the cafeteria beforehand, I believe that I will be able to do at least that much.”
At first I was thinking of having everybody sit in the courtyard and eating obentou together, but once I considered the possibility of rain falling, I decided that the cafeteria was the safest option.
“Wouldn’t the senpais criticise us pretty badly if newcomers like us suddenly take up a whole section of the cafeteria?”
I flashed my peony badge once again.
“It will be fine if I just say that I will take responsibility for it. Let us also have a word with the student council president. This is only for a day, so I am sure everybody will be magnanimous.”
“Whoaa, as expected if Kisshouin-san.”
Satomi-kun applauded.
Hohohoh, if you have a problem then bring it up with the Pivoine!
…Hm? Was that not one of the Rococo Queen’s lines?
I got both the cafeteria, and student council president Tomoe-senpai’s permission, and we were able to successfully hold an informal lunch gathering with the class.
When I used Kasumi-sama’s name while asking Tomoe-senpai for permission, he said ‘OK’ with a wry smile.
This isn’t threat, you know? It’s a request, you know?
It would be rude to take up any seats that were too good, so we decided to try our best to pick seats in the corner that were as low-key as possible. It’d suck to sit smack bang in the middle with everybody staring at us, after all.
“Well then, everybody, shall we dine?”
If there are those who eat lunch in the cafeteria, then there are also those who bring obentou with them. It’s fine to eat your obentou in the cafeteria as well, but because there were kids who hadn’t ever been to the cafeteria out of shyness, the lunch gathering this time might be a good chance for them to start coming here.
As the lunch progressed, even the students who didn’t even have stiff conversations gradually began to happily talk with the students around them.
The Internal students taught the Externals about various things, and there was a pretty good mood going on.
“And you know, see the seats way back there? They’re seats reserved for the Pivoine, so regular students should never, ever sit there.”
I heard one of the Internal students speaking to an External student.
Mn, there is a plate there that says they’re reserved for the Pivoine so they can probably tell.
By the way, I rare use it. Since my days in the middle school section, I’ve mostly enjoyed lunch together with Serika-chan and the others. When I was in my first year of the middle school section, I was invited to eat there with Kasumi-sama. It was mostly Kasumi-sama speaking lovingly about Tomoe-senpai.
Usually, lunch time is when conversations get the most lively. If you aren’t there for a little while, when you get back you won’t be able to follow what everybody is talking about from then on, and you’ll steadily become left behind. To a group of girls, eating together at lunch time is pretty important.
Kaburagi and Enjou always spend lunch at the reserved seats. That’s probably because the fan girls
