Estragole and limonene may
contribute to the high fumigant activity of the essential oils based on
24-h LC50 values of 0.004–0.122 and 0.013–0.171 mg cm−3 against
S. zeamais and T. castaneum adults, which are similar to the results of
previous studies. Estragole as a major compound (69.5%) of the essential oil of Zanthoxylum schinifolium Sieb. et Zucc fruits exhibited strong
contact and fumigant activities against S. zeamais (Wang et al., 2011).
In addition, minor components such as linalool, β-myrcene, and α-
