This research uses a telephone questionnaire as the data-collection technique. The questionnaire
was developed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in order to develop a
better understanding of “happiness” in Thailand.
The questionnaire was translated from English
to Thai keeping the meaning as close to the original English as possible but also making sure that the language was understandable by Thai people.
The questionnaire was pre-tested on a sample
of 20 cases and was amended by abridging and/or simplifying some questions to make them
more concise and easier to understand.
