‘The Radioactive Galaxy’ was a title too broad for these workshops, as virtually every aspect of galactic physics falls somewhere under such a broad umbrella. Thus for the 1999 Ringberg Workshop the title ‘Astronomy with Radioactivities’ was introduced to emphasize the observational aspect. We envision gamma-ray-line astronomy united with the radioactive concentrations that exist within presolar grains and with the concentrations of now decayed radioactivities that existed within a molecular cloud core that was poised to suddenly become the solar system. I would suggest, for purposes of our thinking only, that the title that vividly unites our themes would be ‘Astronomy with New Nuclei’, although I prefer the present title for a banner under which we may rally.
