Our research was conducted in a multinational company’s
factory that produces semiconductor integrated
circuits (ICs) and has adopted two manufacturing
technologies, namely Conventional Line (CL) and LeanProduction Line (LPL). It surveys the ergonomics factors
with special attention to working conditions (WC),
task risks and danger of the job (RD), and physical body
stress (BS) to the shop-floor workers. The ICs produced
by both lines are used for voltage regulators, switching
devices, current, temperature protection control, and
so forth. Most of the products are assembled in automotive
and industrial modules (e.g., power windows,
car automated braking systems [ABS], fuel-injection
control, computer motherboard power supply).
