To Foster Attitude Building
The attitudes which have been explored are attributes of intellectually and emotionally mature individuals, persons who not only behave outwardly in desirable ways but who understand why they act as they do. If these and other attitudes are to be fostered, they must be planned for and not simply accepted as concomitants to cognitive outcomes. Klausmeier suggests eight steps that teachers can take to facilitate the learning of attitudes [3]. These may be interpreted in terms of the problems of science teaching in the following manner:
