The house consists of two consecutive parallel pavillions - a winter living space focused around an original farmhouse fireplace and a summer living area.
The timber-framed house designed by world-renowned architect Glenn Murcutt won a Merit Award for outstanding architecture from the Royal Australian Institute of Architects and is recognised as one of the finest of Murcutt's long houses.
The architectural plans for its 2003 renovations are filed at the State Library of NSW. The plans were published by Habitus.
It was initially set on 82 hectares with four separate titles.
