The objective of this research is to improve properties of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) with natural rubber (NR) and
bentonite (B), due to their biodegradability. PLA, NR and B were prepared on constantly PLA and NR of 90%wt
and 10%wt while B concentrations were varied from 0-5%wt using an internal mixer. Mechanical properties and
morphological of composites were investigated. The impact strength, percent elongation at break and tensile
toughness of the composites increases with adding NR concentration at 10%wt. Furthermore, tensile toughness
increases around 1.3 folds when compared to pure PLA. Adding B at 1%wt, impact strength increase up to 76
kJ/m2 which around 1.3 folds when compared to pure PLA as same as tensile toughness. After that, increasing B
content affect impact strength decrease. Furthermore, tensile strength and percent elongation at break tends to
decrease with adding B. Morphology of pure PLA and PLA composites were examined by scanning electron
microscopy (SEM). The mixture is immiscible compound. NR particle evenly
