How would I define a #GIRLHERO? A #GIRLHERO is fearless. She stands up for others when no one else will, even when the haters try to knock her down. She uses her voice proudly and loudly. And her power is electric, jumpstarting the hearts of others.
If you ask me, Lady Gaga is the ultimate #GIRLHERO. There are few artists as daring and creative as Lady Gaga. Whether she’s telling us to “just dance” or singing “I was born this way,” Lady Gaga shows that being true to yourself is of the highest importance. Leading by example, she shows all her fans—or LittleMonsters—that self-expression and self-love are the seeds needed to make the world grow. Here five more reasons for my Lady Gaga love:
1.She gives back. In 2012, she launched the Born this Way Foundation ensure the safety and well-being of youth by connecting and empowering them with opportunities.
2.She speaks out. Through her massive Twitter following (51.5 MILLION PEOPLE!), she raises awareness on issues like healthy body image, preventing gender-based violence and LGTBQ rights.
3.She’s cross-generational. Nothing beats hearing Julie Andrews carry out a Sound of Music duet with this fab female.
4.She’s all about girl power. She went to an all-girls school in New York City.
5.She’s not afraid to tackle new projects. In fact, Lady Gaga stars in the new American Horror Story: Hotel premiering this fall.
I think Lady Gaga is a #GIRLHERO. Who’s yours? Take to social media and share the photos and stories of your friends, family and female role models who you consider to be a #GIRLHERO.
