The extraction treatment which bagasse receives prior to bulk storage has a
significant influence on subsequent spontaneous combustion behaviour.
Upstream of the final mill bagasse is saturated with high temperature water (80-90 °C). Final bagasse leaves the milling train by open conveyor at a temperature
