This paper aims to study the results of integrating extra-curricula activities related to
Thai art and culture with teaching of “Thai society and culture” course to Chinese
students. The primary data is based on observing and interviewing learners, guest
instructors, and those participating in the activities. The other sources of data derive
from the course and activity evaluations by the organizing team, instructors and
learners, as well as results of quizzes and a final examination. The findings reveal that
the objectives of integrating extra-curricular activities related to culture with classroom
activities in teaching this course are successful. All learners directly experienced Thai
art and culture in real situations, and thus they could relate to their experiences both
within the course and with other courses. This resulted positively to produce learner
achievements and instructors success. Additionally, academic and social institutions
also benefit from human and career development as well as providing the groundwork
for a learning-based society.
