Insufficient nutritional status during flower induction will reduce the weight of the fruit as compared to the vegetative parts of the pineapple plant. Tables 4 and 5 show the results for the analysis of the pineapple fruit. The level of nitrogen showed significant effect on crown weight, fruit length and weight and fruit to crown ratio. An increase in crown weight, fruit length and weight, fruit to crown ratio has no significant effect as the rate of nitrogen was increased to 600 kg•N•ha-1.
