Household Size
Household size also affects food security because with more people, there are more mouths to feed.
In 2005, the average household size was 5.9 persons, slightly lower than in the 1995 Census. Furthermore, household size was generally lower in urban areas as compared to rural areas. The size is also somewhat lower in rural areas with access to road than in areas without access to road. On a average 10% of private households are headed by women, in urban households 14%, and in rural areas without road 7%.
