In 1989, information literacy was first defined in the American Library Association’s (ALA) Presidential Committee on Information Literacy Final Report [3].Since the report, many various definition have emerged. In 2000, “Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education” was approved by Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL). Information literacy is a set of abilities requiring individuals to “recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information.”[4] Besides these, it is commonly regarded that information literacy includes the ability of reading, writing and study [5].
