The amount of total phenolics in the dried chlorophyl-free olive leaves
of the koroneiki cultivar was determined at 45.2 ± 1.1 mg GAE/g. This is
in close agreement with a previous study reporting a value of
40.27 mg GAE/g dried olive leaves (Makris, Boskou, & Andrikopoulos,
2007), but higher than the value of 26 mg GAE/g dried leaves determined
in a recent study for the kalamon cultivar (Botsoglou et al., 2012). This
inconsistency might be attributed to various parameters including the
olive leaf cultivar, the season of collection, the leaf age and the extraction
solvents.
