Sensory literacy involves not just sound and sigh but all five senses. Tactile activities help develop your baby's sense of touch as well as her self-awareness and body sense. When playing with textures with your infant, remember that infants have an almost irresistible urge to put everything they touch into their mouths. That's because they use their mouths and their hands, for tactile exploration. You'll need to watch for choking hazards and remember to use nontoxic materials when you play.
