Government to spend ฿3,500 on rural jobs
The government has allocated another 3,500 million baht to this fiscal year for the expansion of rural employment projects throughout the country, Minister of Prime Minister's office Aphisit Vetchacheeva said at the weekend.
The minister said that this fiscal year's projects, like those of last year, will concentrate on improving public health services and agricultural production in rural areas, road construction and development of infrastructure and water sources.
Most of these projects which lasted only about three months in fiscal 1997 were extended to six months in fiscal 1998 to allow them to be carried out more efficiently, he added.
