Solanesol is one of the active ingredients in tobacco leaves
with content around 0.5–4.0%, which is a nine polyisoprene primary
alcohol in all-trans configuration and reported as the starting
material in coenzyme Q10, vitamin K2 and anticancer synergist
agent SDB synthesis [1,2]. Due to its pharmaceutical value in
antibiosis, antiphlogosis and cardiovascular diseases treatment [3],
many attempts have been made to extract solanesol from natural
resources
