Environments influence who are and what we do. Our behavior is often subtly, and at times nonconsciously, influenced by our surrounding. For instance, where one votes can influence how one votes with the type of building affecting how people vote (e.g., voting in a school influences people to vote for the candidate/party that has a stronger emphasis on education).2 Physical environments also represent a subset of social rules, convention, and expectation about certain behavior that trigger certain behavior and /or define the nature of the social interaction. For example, entering into someone’s office cues the norm of visitor feelings and behavior.3 It is not surprising then to thing that the environment can have a strong, even if subtle, influence on negotiation partner.
